Jesse Ralph Phillips, 84, of 3006 Progressive Church Road in Princeton, died Wednesday, Aug. 6.

He was born Jan. 19, 1924, to the late James Ruffin and Annie Crocker Phillips.

Mr. Phillips was an associate of Arnold Wilbert Vault Company for 35 years where he serviced the installation of vaults at the burial site. He was a member of Progressive Presbyterian Church, where he served as the Sunday School superintendent, a deacon and a choir director.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Revs. Percy Coleman and Lewis Baker officiating. The committal service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Progressive Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Surviving, besides his wife Nellie Pearl Capps Phillips, are one son, Tom Pilkington of Princeton; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at Casey Funeral Home and immediately following the funeral service.
