Jesse Ray Jones, 56, of Smithfield, died Saturday, Aug. 2, at the E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington.

Born April 7, 1952, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late Lathan and Laura Lee Jones of Wilson’s Mills. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Believer’s Baptist Church in Clayton.

Surviving is a daughter, April Lutterloh of Burlington; one son, Timothy Jones of Supply; four sisters, Rachel Jones and Pamela Warren, both of Wilson’s Mills, Sheila Baker of Four Oaks and Katherine Breedlove of Liberty; one brother, Roy “Buck” Jones of Burlington; and four grandchildren.
