Allean Pollard Blackmon, 88, of 10025 N.C. 96 South, Benson, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, at WakeMed in Raleigh.

Born Sept. 20, 1919, in Johnston County, Mrs. Blackmon was a daughter of the late Ben and Ethel Morgan Pollard. She was the widow of Ashley “Bay” Blackmon. Mrs. Blackmon was a homemaker and a member of Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church. The Revs. Richard Whitman and Ronnie Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving are her daughter, Janice Dorman of Benson; three sons, Ashley Earl Blackmon of Kenly, W. Gerald Blackmon of Four Oaks and the Rev. Cecil Blackmon of Benson; a sister, Lorraine Parker of Linden; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, 301 W. Main St., Benson.
