Thelma B. Crumpler, 84, of Brown’s Pond Road near Selma died Friday, Aug. 15, at Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield.

Born July 22, 1924, Mrs. Crumpler was the youngest child of the late Charlie Freeman and Willie Ann Woodard Broadwell. She was the widow of Thomas Edmond Crumpler. Mrs. Crumpler was a member of Micro Free Will Baptist Church and its Philathea Sunday School class.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at Parrish Funeral Home, 1351 S. Pollock St., Selma.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Crumpler of Raleigh and Tom Crumpler of Beaufort; a daughter, Patty Alfonson of Libertyville, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 till 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Micro Free Will Baptist Church, 106 U.S. North, Micro, N.C. 27555.
