Donald M. Ivey, 71, of 784 Ivey Road, Benson, died Monday, Sept. 22, at WakeMed in Raleigh.

Born April 2, 1937, in Johnston County, Mr. Ivey was a son of the late David Osbin and Lela Lee Ivey. He was a heavy-equipment operator and served in the National Guard.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. The Rev. Hubert Morgan and Dr. David Charles Creech will officiate.

Surviving his daughters, Donna Brady of Selma, Wendie McLamb of Benson, Connie Cox Hall of Smithfield and Mary Cox Hester of Lexington; a brother, Julius A. Ivey of Raleigh; two sisters, Ava Elaine Creech of Cary and Faith Dean of Benson; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. till 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, 301 W. Main St., Benson.
