James Wilton McLamb, 78, of 3617 Banks Road, Raleigh, died Thursday, Sept. 25, at his home.

Born Oct. 9, 1929, in Johnston County, Mr. McLamb, also known as “Cowboy” and “Bluelight,” was the son of the late Fernie and Leola Lee McLamb. He was a retired heating and air-conditioning contractor. Also, he had a booth at flea markets.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, 301 W. Main St., Benson. Burial will follow in the cemetery at Banner Chapel Church.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma Creech McLamb; a son, Gary McLamb of Angier; a daughter, Bonnie Hyatt of Willow Spring; two sisters, Velma Tanner of Hamlet and Ruth Pierce Johnston of Cary; and a stepgrandson.

The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home.
