Betty Lou Godwin Elliott, 68, of Selma died Thursday, Oct. 23, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Her family was by her side.
Born June 18, 1940, in Johnston County, Mrs. Elliott was a daughter of the late William Jasper and Flonnie Holt Godwin.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Wilson’s Mills Church of God. The Revs. Larry Hunt and Jean Wilkins will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton.
Surviving are four daughters, Betty Jo Raynor of Linden, Darlene Newsome of Lucama, Sheila Godwin of Princeton and Lisa Hayes of Pine Level; two sons, Steve White of Selma and Dan Hudson of Clayton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Playground Equipment Fund at Wilson’s Mills Church of God, 4869 Wilson’s Mills Road, Wilson’s Mills, N.C. 27593.
