Betty Jean Denning, 81, of Benson died Friday, Jan. 2, at The Covington in Raleigh.
Born Dec. 7, 1927, in Johnston County, Mrs. Denning was a daughter of the late Charlie Bland and Azula Stephenson Stewart. She was the widow of Hyson Albert Denning. Mrs. Denning was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dick Rodda will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Steve Denning of Raleigh; a sister, Kathryn Wassermann of Benson; and two grandchildren.
