James Daniel Parrish, 59, of 6551 Princeton-Kenly Road, Princeton, died Wednesday, June 17, at his home. Born July 11, 1949, in Johnston County, Mr. Parrish was a son of the late Michael Preston and Avangalie Edwards Parrish. He was a member of Whitley Church.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev.

Kelvin Gurley, the Rev. Dennis Pollock and Vernon Capps will officiate. A private burial will take place later. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Parrish of Smithfield; two sons, James Daniel Parrish Jr. of Princeton and Steven Hinnant of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Susan Marie Clemmons of Raleigh; two stepsons, Robbie Dixon of Goldsboro and Gabriel Dixon of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Billy Parrish of Selma; two sisters, Rachel Capps and Lib Watson, both of Goldsboro; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends starting at 4 p.m. Saturday and then after the service.

The family requests donations to the funeral home to help with funeral costs.
