Born Dec. 30, 1956, in Johnston County, Mr. Strickland was the son of Diana Pounds Futch of Selma and the late L.D. Futch. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he worked in the X-ray department at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Parrish Funeral Home, 1351 S. Pollock St., Selma. Burial will follow in Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Donna Overton Strickland; a son, Shane Strickland of Clayton; a daughter, Victoria Wall of Elkton, Md.; a stepson, Robbie Tackett of Raleigh; two stepdaughters, Sabrina Hartman and Michelle Hartman, both of Wake County; a stepbrother, Dennis Futch of Selma; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 till 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the funeral home.
