For Princeton, the lead-up to the NCHSAA volleyball playoffs couldn't have gone any better.

In a six-day period, the Bulldogs took six of seven games from rival Rosewood, claiming a share of the Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season championship and then the league's tournament title and No. 1 playoff seeding.

Princeton (16-5 entering the playoffs) topped the Eagles 25-16, 25-15, 25-18 in the final match of the regular-season on Oct. 15, then rebounded from an opening game loss to take three straight in the league tournament finals.

The Bulldogs' 21-25, 27-17, 25-17, 25-13 victory last Wednesday wrapped up the tournament title and a No. 1 state playoff seeding.

Princeton's front line players totaled nearly two dozen kills on the night, led by Rebecca Harlan's 10.

Setter Erin Schultze totaled 27 assists in the victory for the Bulldogs.

Triton tops South Johnston again

Triton downed South Johnston in three straight games (25-17, 25-21, 25-10) to won the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference tournament championship on Wednesday. The Hawks were 22-0 entering the playoffs.

All three of South's losses have come against the Hawks.

The Trojans carried a 19-3 record into the playoffs.

Panthers bow out in semifinals

Louisburg eliminated North Johnston from last week's Northern Carolina 2-A Conference tournament, sending the Panthers into the NCHSAA playoffs with a 16-5 record.
