JACKSON, Tenn. - Southern League MVP Gaby Sanchez helped lead the way again for Carolina in an 11-2 win over West Tenn Thursday night in Game 2 of the Northern Division Championship Series. The win gives the Mudcats a 2-0 series lead with three games at Five County Stadium, beginning Saturday night.

Sanchez went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs Thursday night to boost his average to .625 in the series. Teammate Chris De La Cruz had another big night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs batted in as well. He's hitting .714 in the series.

Carolina's bullpen was brillant again, holding the Diamond Jaxx scoreless for the final four innings in relief of Aaron Thompson who worked five innings for the win. The Mudcat bullpen has now worked eight innings in the series without giving up a run.

Game 3 of the series is set for 6:15 p.m. on Saturday night at Five County Stadium. Game 4 (if needed) would be Sunday at 2 p.m., with Game 5 (if needed) on Monday at 7:15 p.m.

If there are any changes to the schedule because of Tropical Storm Hanna, we'll let you know as soon as we know.
